Beneath every stage is a hushed labyrinth, quietly planted and forgotten by the architects of old. Precocious little girls enter and pick a treasure, but only I discovered the doorway to the Land of Echolalia. It is so difficult not to succumb to all these voices, to reign supremely or not at all, I'd remain in the dragon-world with amber scales forever.

PS: Entering this contest. Cross your fingers for me. xx

  1. Beautiful, again :)

This makes me wonder - what sorts of treasures are there underneath the stages? If I were down there, what treasure would I pick? So interesting.

  3. :D

Oh wow! It would be neat to have one of those. The best part would probably be watching those dials skitter around; I'd probably need a pen and pad to mark all those symbols down, haha.

Hmm, I'd want to find something like a trinket, but one that would give me power over clouds. Like, I can make them any shade I want, and make it dense enough to be pretty solid. Cloud chair. Cute cloud boy. Yeah. Perfect.

Thanks for following me :) I think we'll get along too.

  4. You're welcome! :) A power over clouds is very imaginative. When I was younger, I was especially fond of the cloud kingdom from the Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus movie. Sometimes I still rewatch it, it's very inspiring to me.

  5. "Come fly with me, let's fly. let's fly away..." Frank Sinatra. The world of which you speak sounds wonderfully intriguing and oh, so tempting! Let's go there! Lovely pic!

Pointless info: my Siamese is named after the Labyrinth guardians... Sphinx! http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_uvU1Dv7Z0rI/TJJns0UMYkI/AAAAAAAAAJA/bHpju--u5uM/S170/Photo-0163.jpg

Not just because she looks like the one at Giza when she lies down with her chocolate paws stretched out in front of her, but because her tail curls into a perfect question mark, to signify the riddles that shinges ask!

Best of luck with the Etsy giveaway. I love your comment. It sounds enchanting! My part of the country has 9 months of summer and 3 months of slightly unpleasant weather! Naturally, snow fascinates me!

P.S. Sorry for the essay! XXX.

  6. Gorgeous, darling. I've missed your posts! The concept of this post is so interesting. When you say "to reign supremely or not at all" it really got me thinking about the balance between them and if it's ever possible to find a perfect balance. Good luck for the contest! xxx

  10. Oh my dear sweet Wendy Bird, you have managed to entrance me yet again. I truly believe that you must be a unicorn or something magical in disguise. All of your words have the making to be fantastical stories! If you ever became an author (which I know in my heart you are capable of) I would own every single book you published. That is quite a lovely contest isn't it? I was so thrilled with the lovely zine that I just decided to go and purchase it off of etsy, it truly is a treasure. Reading your posts always brings me such happiness, I always look forward to them! Thanks again for your lovely comment on my blog, your presence is an honour!

    xx and hugs

  11. This is just so brilliant! I love how you use words. I often just read over your work to tease inspiration out for myself!

  12. My dear. I find this post intriguing and mysterious. I have read it twice and after this comment I will read it twice more. Everytime I think I've got hold of its deepest meanings, it shifts and slips through my fingers. Beautiful, magical, shimmering prose. Dragons, yes, they have been singing the edges of all my dreams lately. ♥

Ps. My favouritest music fairies are Florence + the Machine, and Lisa Mitchell. Listen to anything and everything by them; you will not fail to be utterly inspired and delighted. Have you heard any of their music? I'm sure you must have, for they are very popular among dreamers like us. x

  13. Your words captivate me. They really do! <3

It is hard to type with crossed fingers but regardless, I typed this whole comment with them crossed. (The backspace key is my BFF.) XD

  14. Jhordyn Ashley: I wish, I wish! Perhaps in another life.. Although I think if you try very hard you can become something extroardinary, and if you find friends that will believe alongside you, anything is possible. It becomes harder for some as we get older but not for me.. You really just need to pretend you're Lyra.

Mckenzie: I do that with your blog!! I would not think you should like the way I write, your work is so eloquent and beautiful, whereas mine are just stories with limited vocabulary.

Thea: I've always been fascinated with the dragon world. As a child I delighted in the Inheritance trilogy and BTACD (neopets roleplay) and even Spyro. Thank you got the wonderful music suggestions! I actually have not heard of them before, but I just listened, and they are simply magical. xx

Melee: Thank you for being such a flipping awesome friend, Melee. :)

    Thank you all!! <3

  19. Wendy, Wendy, Wendy.

I have missed you, so. You are such a beautiful girl, and this post...I don't even know how to say it. I'll sit pondering for a while now, you've given me a thought to escape for.

I've moved homes, if you cared to check my dear. I've been needing the kindness of those who mean a lot to me and I feel that perhaps moving to a new place will bring more joy here? Regardless, thank you for being you. You are all anybody could ever ask for and so much more.

    Yours,
    Norah x

  21. Norah: Thank you so much! Moving is so exciting, I wish my family would move. Everything is the same here. I'm so sorry for not keeping in touch with you, things have been so tiresome here, it's so hard to go on blogger anymore. I hope that will change soon. X

Jhordyn: I've been neglecting this blog and all of my followers, I know, it pains me so much. School has pretty much taken over and sucked all the magic out of me. You mean sooo much to me, dearest, but please do not be disappointed if I disappear. I am really not so special.

    xxx
